Abstract

This paper analyzes two legends belonging to the common urban legends – one, about a luxury sports car bought at a very low price, and the other about the amount of money a woman paid to get the recipe for a cake she liked in an expensive restaurant. Both legends speak about the damage somebody suffered and the attempt to revenge. In the first legend, revenge is fulfilled. In the second, the damage is based on the interpretation of an incomplete contract, which gives this legend the character of ethnojurisprudential advice.
